Using Analytics Story

1. After logging into the IBP page, the relevant area can be opened by typing “Manage Analytics Story” in the search bar.

2. The steps for using Analytics Story are as follows:

  • Create: Create a new Analytics Story.
  • Copy: Copy an existing Analytics Story.
  • Edit: Edit the Analytics Story.
  • Opt Out: Opt out of an unused Analytics Story.
  • Opt In: Rejoin an Analytics Story that was opted out of.

3. In this blog post, we will explain the step of “recreating” an Analytics Story. After selecting Create, fill in the information on the page that appears:

  • Name: Assign a name for the Analytics Story to be created.
  • Description: Enter a description for the Analytics Story.
  • Category: Select a category for the Analytics Story. After completing these steps, click Next.

4. The next step is to select the data source. Choose the desired data source you want to work with and click OK.

5. After creating a new Analytics Story, you can configure the data source for the chart or table and add variables. To edit variables, click on the Edit Prompts option in the toolbar.

6. To make a variable more visible by adding it to the Story filter bar, select Add Story Filter/Prompt Variables and choose the variable you want to display.

7. The next step is to enhance the Analytics Story by adding images, shapes, text, links, RSS readers, and embedded web pages. This can be done from the area specified below.

8. The following image shows an example of an Analytics Story with the fields mentioned above added. The elements in the image are as follows:

9. To add a chart or table to the created Analytics Story, click on the area marked with an arrow in the Insert section.

10. On the next page, select the desired fields to create a table or chart with the preferred properties. From the Currently Selected Chart option, make a selection from the right side to create the chart or table as required. Additionally, the Chart Orientation option determines the orientation of the chart.

11. In the created chart, if you want to work with a specific breakdown, the Measures values can be selected optionally. Then, from the Dimension option, select the field that you want to work with to define the categorical or qualitative characteristics of the data.
